This page is for members to learn why, when & how to prepare for a potential natural disaster. Everyone is urged to use common sense and listen to the authorities to obtain information on what EMS, Fire, law enforcement and emergency management agencies are suggesting that you do to prepare. The Church Conference requires that we have a disaster plan in place, this plan must cover internal and external disasters. Internal disasters are those that deal with the church and outbuildings and how they are to be prepared for a disaster, as well as how we handle securing our documents both paper and electronic & securing power and water. It also must include how we will communicate with you in the event there is damage to our church and outbuildings.
External disasters are those that affect our congregation, and community members. The plan will include how we will contact and ensure our members safety, provide assistance, food, & water if necessary. It also includes how we make contact with members in the affected areas, particularly in the event the communications avenues are damaged or destroyed. The plan will also determine how we will work with emergency services in the event we need to enter a devastated area to check on members. Below are several links that will assist you in preparing your family, home and property for a potential disaster situation.
